The founding belief of D-dats is that every child has the right to learn to read and write and to reach their full potential in all areas of their lives. Children with Specific Learning Difficulties, such as dyslexia, often need more specialised support to do this. D-dats is able to provide the specialist support that will help your child to do this – through one to one teaching on a specifically tailored programme, and through consulting and training in schools to enable them to give the best support possible.

D-dats offers a range of face to face services to parents and schools in Derby and Derbyshire. Phone, Email and Skype consultations are also available for people living outside of Derbyshire.

Services include Diagnostic Assessments, private tuition, consultancy, training and support. The website provides information and resources for parents and schools.

D-dats was set up by Phil Wroe in 2012.

Phil Wroe is a Specialist Teacher and Assessor of people with dyslexia. Phil has been teaching for over 20 years in a range of settings, including Nurseries, Schools and doing private tuition.

Phil has worked as a classroom teacher, a Literacy co-ordinator and a Phonics Advisor. She has a wealth of experience in teaching children with Special Educational Needs. For the past 12 years she has worked in schools across Derby as an Independent Educational Consultant and Specialist Teacher.

Since 2020 Phil has been working as an Autistic Consultant, and in 2022 she founded a new business, SquarepegSEN – Support and Education for Neurodiversity http://www.squarepegsen.co.uk

Phil now contracts for a number of organisations as a consultant and also gives talks and training on autism from the autistic perspective.

Phil now works alongside 2 highly qualified specialist assessors who carry out diagnostic assessments for D-dats.
